Dorry Bless is a celebrant. She works with her clients to create meaningful ways to celebrate and go through distinctive rites of passage. She writes, personalizes and officiates at weddings, milestone events, home blessings; as well as funerals and memorial services. To learn more visit www.circleoflifeceremonies.com  Dorry received her training and certification from the Celebrant USA Foundation and Institute.

As a child, she instinctively performed ceremonies; from burying birds that fell from their nests to initiating dedication rites in her neighborhood for the clubs she formed with the kids on the block. With the given name of Bless, it’s no surprise that Dorry spent a considerable amount of time as a spiritual seeker and was ultimately drawn to this work.

She credits her professional experience as a corporate meeting planner and special events producer; in addition to a talent executive for high profile events, as well as pro bono work in the non-profit sector; as seeding the ground for the dedication and commitment she brings to her celebrant practice.

Dorry earned a Bachelor of Arts from the State University of New York at Albany in Rhetoric and Communication in 1979.  Currently, she works as a volunteer for the hospice organization in her town. In addition, she is certified as an animal pet loss and bereavement counselor.

“My obligation is this:
To be transparent.”

Willie

Dorry lives in a stone farm
house on the Musconetcong River (‘quiet waters’) with her husband, Howard; their daughter, Orli; a senior Quaker parrot, Willie Dekembe Mutumbo; a middle-aged Labradoodle, DJ Shaman Jones; and a young English Springer Spaniel, Patsy Moksha O’Brien. Occasionally, some wild turkeys, guinea hens and foxes drop by. The most unusual animals to show up at her office door were a Canadian goose, a snake and three cows. Not together. The purpose of these particular visits was never clear.  Maybe they just wanted to see the lady that writes the animal tributes.
